Congratulations on a fantastic informative site. Moved down South with Karen Wearden (now Wright) 25 years ago both of us still call Flixton/Urmston home, great to see so many people who have sent messages, recognise so many names and places, would love to hear from anyone who went to Wellacre 1970,Flixton Girls School 1976,Flixton Youth Club,Football, St Johns,Aldermere,Alker,Shell Chemicals,Urmston Swimming Club,I saw a comment from someone with regard to Clitheroe a Science teacher at Wellacre running the length of 4 Science Labs to give the slipper,I remember it well as I was on the receiving end a few times! Have spoke to people via Friends Reunited so this is another fantastic way to catch up with old friends and even enemies as time is a great healer.

Researching my family tree, found that my Grandmother [nee Edith Maude Chorley] at time of her marriage in 1912 was stated as living at ELM ROAD, FLIXTON. Anyone know where this was?
