Good morning all. We have unfortunatley been told this morning that we are now going to be placed on a four day working week. I just wondered if anybody knew of any employment available, maybe for one day a week (unsure of which day yet), or evening work. Currently in office work, though I will do anything!! Thank you.

Just a tip for those people wanting part time evening or weekend work - I do security work at concerts and football matches on a part time basis - it's a great job (sometimes) I also do film and TV extra work so it's very varied and interesting. If you are willing to accept the non guaranteed basis of work and are the flexible and outgoing type it may suite you - there is always a demand for a reliable person of any age - The festival and concert season is about to take off and there will be loads of work around - suck it and see is my motto, try owt once and twice if you like it.

Anyone know of part time work suitable for a 14 year old boy? Preferably a Saturday job but delivering papers would be OK but he couldn't commit to doing this everyday due to school commitments. Thanks.

Hi all,
I am always looking for staff for my small cleaning business based in Urmston. We have been up and running for 5 years now, and we need more staff all the time. The job is very flexible as in you can pick what hours you would like to work ie from 1.5 hours a week upto 25 although they have to be regular and not just term times etc, there are no special requirements other than reliable, trustworthy and enjoys housework ie ironing, shopping, cleaning etc and no upper age limit as long as your capable to do the job, (usually find the more mature are more suitable) The pay is £5.80 ph working upto £6.30 within 6 months. You dont have to have a car but it would be handy, all the work is local and most of my customers are elderly. (No personal care involved). It is a permanent employment with hols etc so if your interested, have a look at my website: www.homehelpers.org.uk or give us a call on 0161 613 0685 - Homehelpers Ltd, regards Jackie

Sainsbury's Open Day at Flixton House on Monday 27th between 10am and 7pm. this I have been told is for local people to go to seek the jobs they want and receive help in filling in the application forms.

This is for local people as Sainsburys wish to fill as many of the 70% part time vacancies with local people as possible.

The Sainsburys recruitment website is flaky to say the least. Looks like it's some sort of Oracle database.

I was half way completing an application for various jobs listed on Sainsbury's website, when I got booted out.
Upon reloading, all the vacancies had been removed!
I gather that they must have all the applicants they need, and removed the listings whilst I was attempting to complete the process. Very annoying, but just shows how much competition there is in the jobs market at the moment.

I had a look on the Sainsbury's site yesterday and the only position I could find was for a Confectioner.

That said I can't remember what category that was under so there maybe other jobs under different categories.

I agree with Brenda, I tried searching for vacancies the way you suggested Dave, and still nothing was coming up.
Perhaps all the vacancies for Urmston have already been filled, especially as it seems they have already started interviewing?

I'd move for the Sainsbury's jobs quickly I've just been for my interview today and I only applied last week.

Hi Brenda, all you need to do is select any job so that you can proceed to the application process. Then click to activate the recruitment site where you get the opportunity again to select the type of job you're seeking, location, salary etc. If you do the first search and it comes up blank, change the Area of Business, Type of role and Salary so that these fields are blank and then you can search all the jobs on offer at Urmston in one go. Hope this helps!
