The
Urmston Partnership was set up
6 years ago to actively work towards the regeneration
and promotion
of the Urmston area. Made up of businesses, the
local community and with the support of Trafford
Council, the aim of the partnership is to create
a successful town centre for the area. More

| Coming Soon... a search engine with
a difference! |
|
The
new urmston.net search engine differs from other
search engines because it actually searches a
database that is maintained by the business owners
themselves. For a small annual subscription;
less than the price of a credit card sized advert
in the Messenger for just one week, local businesses
will be granted autonomous access to the urmston.net
business maintenance pages. Once you have logged-in
you will be able to add/delete and update your
business details and create a list of products
or services that your business offers, complete
with prices. Whether you offer a single service
or stock a thousand items, the choice is yours
but every item or service that you add will automatically
be included in the search engine. Beauty Salons
could list their services; takeaways could list
their menus and update their prices on a regular
basis etc.
I
already have a few local businesses that are
keen to sign-up;
Mike at Goldtime Jewellers for
example thinks it's a great idea. He's going
to be able to list all his watches on the search
engine as well as his watch repair service.
So if you've got a broken watch, typing in the
keywords "watch repair" will display
Goldtime Jewellers in the results. The search
engine will operate on a first come first served
basis too so if Mike has "watch repair" setup
as a service and someone else joins the scheme
at a later date who also does watch repair, then
Goldtime will be first in the search results
because Mike was the first to sign-up. If you’re
interested in subscribing to the service you
can contact me by using the contact page.
